Mentee Information

Graduate Student Mentorship Program

The Graduate Student Mentorship Program at the McCoy College of Business is unique to our graduate students. Students are given the opportunity to directly engage with mentors who are industry professionals. The mentors in return can share firsthand experiences with our graduate students and better prepare them in leadership education, experiential learning, and help to advance their career paths.

We welcome and invite you to become a mentee in our program. Please spread the word with others you know who might want to take part in this unique opportunity. Registration is closed for Spring 2024, however we welcome registration for future semesters.

“This will be my second semester as a mentor for the McCoy College Graduate Student Mentorship Program. What I love about this program is the ability to share my real-world experience with students, help them navigate the marketing world, and be an advocate for their work and desires."

Desired Outcome

The aim of this program is for students to gain firsthand professional experience in the unique setting. This opportunity will advance your professional skills to include interpersonal communication, efficiency models, networking, professional decorum, business acumen, and cultural nuances.

Time Commitment

The program includes three meetings (each is 15-30 minutes). These meetings will take place on the first Wednesday of each month. The timing, duration, platform, and topics of these meetings are decided between mentor and mentee after an email introduction. Once these meetings have been conducted and all guidelines have been met, the student will receive credit for two professional development units (PDUs). Repeat opportunities are welcome for no additional PDU credit.

Your attendance as a mentee is required on the following dates:

  • Wednesday, February 7, 2024
  • Wednesday, March 6, 2024
  • Wednesday, April 3, 2024
