International Education Week is a joint initiative of the U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Department of Education as part of the effort to promote programs that prepare Americans for a global environment and attract future leaders from abroad to study, learn, and exchange experiences. McCoy College is hosting several events to celebrate International Education Week. We also encourage you to check out the full calendar of events at Texas State University for the week.

Monday, Nov. 13

McCoy College Education Abroad Fair

2-4 pm | Minife Atrium (4th floor)

Students will have the opportunity to explore Summer 2024 education abroad and international internship opportunities and meet with program faculty. Food and door prizes will be provided, and all are welcome.

Virtual Company Visit to IWC Schaffhausen in Schaffhausen, Switzerland

9-10:30 am | Zoom Session

IWC Schaffhausen is a leading Swiss luxury watch manufacturer based in Schaffhausen in the north-eastern part of Switzerland. Over its more than 150-year history, IWC has earned a reputation for creating professional instrument watches and functional complications, especially chronographs and calendars, which are ingenious, robust, and easy for customers to use. In this virtual visit, you will get an inside look at the manufacturing process of this iconic Swiss company.

Accepted Student Meetup

10:30 am-Noon 
Location: Check with your Academic Program Director

This meetup is for all students who have been accepted into Summer 2024 programs through the McCoy College of Business. Come to this session to pick up your gift from the McCoy College of Business, learn about the passport renewal/application process, and get inside tips to begin applying for several relevant scholarships.  


Visit to Continental

2-4 pm | New Braunfels

You may think of Continental as a tire company. While that is their history, the majority of company revenue no longer comes from tires. Join us for this in-person tour when we visit the Continental manufacturing facility in New Braunfels, Texas. This state-of-the-art facility, opened in 2022, produces many radar devices and sensors used in vehicles across the country. As automated driving becomes mainstream, Continental will play a main role in getting us there. There are limited spaces available for this exclusive tour, so please sign up early.

Study Abroad Information Session for Parents/Guardians

6-7 pm | Zoom Session

This information is designed specifically for parents who are planning to or considering sending their students abroad in 2024. In the session, Dr. Seth Frei, Assistant Dean for Program Assessment and Global Engagement in the McCoy College of Business, will share his experiences in leading several Texas State programs and will answer questions from parents and loved ones. Note this session is just for parents, not for students.

Join us for the third annual International Potluck. This will be a celebration of our heritage and cultures! Please bring your favorite dish that represents your cultural identity or interest, and enjoy a casual lunch with your colleagues. We look forward to having you join us.


McCoy College 2023 Global Summit

Join us for a showcase of global engagement across the McCoy College of Business. This event will feature students, faculty researchers, education abroad program faculty, and the opportunity for your voice to be heard. We look forward to an afternoon of conversations highlighting the efforts of many individuals across the college.
