SAN MARCOS, Texas — Texas State University is the fastest-growing university in the state. To support the increasing student enrollment and academic programs, a record 22 new full-time faculty members are joining the university’s McCoy College of Business this fall, expanding its teaching and research capacity.

"Every one of these hires represents months of work by our faculty search committees and department chairs, and I couldn’t be prouder of what they built," said Dean Sanjay Ramchander. "Our new colleagues bring exactly the expertise — in the classroom, in research, and in emerging fields like analytics and AI — that will keep McCoy College moving forward. We’re thrilled to welcome them, and grateful for everything they’re about to give our students."

The new faculty members from four of McCoy College’s five academic departments bring a range of professional, teaching, and research experience to the college.

The Department of Accounting welcomes three new faculty members, including: Jacob Andrassy, Jon Underwood, and Nicole Moffitt.

Six faculty members are joining the Department of Finance and Economics: Dr. Juan Cardona, Dr. Joselito Estrada, Zhendong Li, Dr. Geumbi Park, Dr. Quan Qi, and Dr. Anh Tran.

The Department of Information Systems and Analytics is welcoming its largest group of faculty members, with 8 new members: Dr. Sardar Bonabi, Ziyu He, Russell Holloway, Dr. Jack Luu, Abdullah Melhem, Dr. Kwesi Ohene-Obeng, Chris Palmisano, and John Teli.

Five new faculty members are joining the Department of Management: Dr. David Bush, Dr. Vipul Garg, Amy Jaeger, Dr. Jigs Shukla, and Min Yong Yoon.

Together, these 22 hires expand McCoy College’s capacity to teach and mentor a growing student body, while bringing fresh perspective on the forces reshaping business today — from the growing role of generative AI to new models of data-driven decision-making. As the business world evolves, this incoming class ensures McCoy College’s students learn from people actively working at that edge.

“To every new faculty member joining us this fall: welcome. You’re joining a college that knows where it’s headed, and we can’t wait to see what you build here with us,” Ramchander said.✯
