The McCoy College of Business is building a new Student Success Center to advance the academic, professional, and personal development of undergraduate students. Officially opening in Fall 2023, the center will offer programs and services that facilitate student learning, personal growth, career readiness, and degree completion.
Construction work on the Student Success Center began March 13. The new facility will be the first of its kind at Texas State University and among only a handful of such centers in business schools across the nation. It will be located on the first floor of McCoy Hall and will be one of the focal points of the college, elevating the undergraduate student learning experience.
"Last year I announced the creation of a new Student Success Center aimed at accelerating the preparation of McCoy College students for academic and career success, as well as a lifetime of leadership and achievement," said Dr. Sanjay Ramchander, Dean of the McCoy College of Business. "We are excited about the development and implementation of student success programs for undergraduate students in the McCoy College of Business."
The center will serve as a collaborative hub for students, faculty, staff, alumni, employers, as well as campus and industry partners — equipping students to emerge professionally prepared to pursue successful careers.
Student Success Center services will include:
- Academic transition programs for first-year students
- Applied real-world learning opportunities
- Professional development workshops
- Community building activities
- Networking and mentoring programs
- Internship and career placement services
- Mental health and wellbeing programs
Center staff will be dedicated to ensuring all elements of the McCoy College’s programs and services work together to support student learning and growth. ✯
