Bruce Smith is the founder, President, and CEO of Safety Vision, LLC and investor shareholder in 40 additional companies with an enterprise value of over $1 billion annually. As a 58-year-old Houstonian, Bruce has developed multiple Houston-based companies into national and international leaders in their respective industries. 

Bruce was born in Santa Monica, California, and moved to Houston at age eight. He graduated from Stratford High School in 1981. He attended Texas State University, majoring in Finance. While at the university, he was President of the Kappa Sigma Fraternity and held several offices in the Interfraternity Council, Young Entrepreneurs Chapter, Texas State Judicial Board, and he was Campus Representative for Miller Beer. While in college, Bruce started his first business, El Dorado Restaurant and Bar, which he operated until he graduated.

After college, Bruce worked at Motorola, where he rose to the position of National Accounts Manager. In 1993, Bruce created a mobile video surveillance company called Safety Vision. Safety Vision has grown to over 100 employees with more than a dozen locations in the United States and 6 locations internationally. By 2025, Safety Vision will realize its long-term goal of being a $100-million-dollar company and exceeding one billion in total sales since inception.

Bruce is the sole shareholder of Safety Vision. He oversees and directly works with all departments and management teams. His primary role as CEO is to grow his businesses both organically and through acquisition, while at the same time, keeping his employees motivated and challenged.

In addition to Safety Vision, Bruce is the founder and shareholder of Global Filtration, Omni Logistics, and The Jewelry Building. Additionally, he is the founder of three banks, an investor in commercial and residential real estate, and investor in multiple private equity funds.

Bruce is married to Kelly, his high school sweetheart, and they have two children: a daughter, Taylor, who is 23 and a son, Brandon, who is 20. Bruce is a member of the Young Presidents Organization (YPO), Board Member of the McCoy College of Business at Texas State University, Texan Bank, Gulf Capital Bank, Prepare 4 Life, and KIPP Academy as well as a former Board Member of the “Bad Pants Open,” and St. Francis School Long-Term Planning.
