Centers & Programs

McCoy College is dedicated to creating a learning environment of innovation and experiential learning. As a way of doing so, McCoy is home to four centers aimed at providing students added resources and support in different areas of business such as sales, entrepreneurship and international business. In addition, Business Leadership Week is an annual event put on by McCoy College in which dozens of guest speakers, panels and other activities are held to educate students on relevant industry topics.

Studies in Entrepreneurship Speaker Series

Students gain personal insights into entrepreneurship as entrepreneurs describe their contributions, reveal the sources of ideas, and discover ways of growth and success.

Business Leadership Week

Started in 2009, Business Leadership Week is a week-long event that engages students, faculty and the local community in conversations and learning about business leadership ideas that extend beyond textbooks and classrooms by offering guest lectures, interactive events and contests, and forums for discussion.

Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Texas State University has established the Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship (CIE) to foster cross-disciplinary collaboration in the pursuit and development of new ideas. The goals of the CIE are to support a growing ecosystem of innovation and entrepreneurship across the university and assist the launch of new ventures, which brings those new ideas to life. The CIE will also serve as a catalyst by engaging, equipping and empowering Texas State students, faculty, alumni and communities to achieve greater levels of entrepreneurial success.

Center for Professional Sales

Texas State University’s Center for Professional Sales offers experiential learning opportunities to prepare students for careers in sales. The center’s wide array of corporate partners provide invaluable resources for students and help McCoy College’s Department of Marketing stay ahead of the curve. Students representing the Center for Professional Sales compete at the highest levels in the National and International Collegiate Sales Competition and secure internships and careers with industry leaders.

Small Business Development Center

Texas State University’s Small Business Development Center is an economic development network that gives small-business owners the support they need to achieve their goals. The center leverages relationships with community partners and provides customized consultations for Texas business owners interested in developing a business plan, finding financing, exploring new markets, increasing sales, or improving productivity and profitability. The Small Business Development Center takes pride in helping emerging and struggling businesses access the tools and resources they need to thrive.
